Nevada Civil War Soldiers Service Records

This CD contains service records of the Nevada soldiers. The information is gathered from various sources and includes information from the microfilm rolls as well as a number of published sources.

On this CD you will find information on approximately 1,900 men. The Nevada Territory Civil War Soldiers Index containing 1,900 names is included showing the units of service for each man and a bibliography of available books to aid in your research.

Many of the men included on this CD have biographical sketches, burial records, and genealogical information not found in the microfilmed service records.

Sample Entry

Abell, James M. (private) age 19 in 1860; enlisted in what became 1st Company G, afterwards 2nd Company C, 13th Texas Infantry, on October 24, 1861 at Columbus; transferred to Company D, 35th Texas Cavalry, April 12, 1862; left with illness, December 1, 1862; returned to company; detailed to get a horse, September 17, 1864; hospitalized in Columbus, October 1, 1864; died of disease, November 5, 1864.
