J. R. served in the 16th Infantry Regiment, Company B. Private July 17, 1861. Appears only on roll dated September 23,1861. His last name is listed as CROSBY on some records. He died at Gettysburg, and is buried at Cunninghams place across the creek from Crawfords Wofords Brigade Hospital, McLaws Division, Longstreets Corps.
