[This service record does not coincide with the known actions of the 14th Artillery Battalion Company A. My understanding is that they would have been in training in Georgia at the time Watkins was wounded in Virginia.]
Two of my grandfather's brothers who fought in the Civil War from Georgia were Watkins Leigh Rainey and William H. Rainey. They were in Company C of the 1st Ga. Volunteers (Ramsey's). There was a third brother by the name of Robert Rainey.

John served in Cobb's Legion Cavalry, Company E. A set of his letters are on file at the Georgia archives, mostly letters to Father--Mother and sisters and
brother. Very little about the battles. He did mention Howell Cobb
in one letter home and in another Gen. Wofford, He did write in
one letter the Va, girls were mighty pretty. In another letter that the
Tenn. women smoked tobacco and cussed.
