2nd Regiment, Kentucky Cavalry

Historical Notes:
The study of the Kentucky 2nd Cavalry Regiment has proven most difficult because there are 4 units by this name and all four saw similar service in the war. We are thus left with tracking down the service records of the individual men, but for this unit it is unclear even if the men were primarily from Kentucky or Tennessee.

Colonel William Walker Ward is shown as the Colonel for this regiment in the rosters. He is most often associated with the Tennessee 9th Cavalry Regiment however.
