Texas 5th Cavalry Regiment


HISTORICAL NOTES: After serving with the Army of New Mexico The 5th Texas Cavalry was assigned to Green's, Hardeman's, and Debray's Brigade in the Trans-Mississippi Department. The regiment fought in Louisiana and reported 99 casualties at Cox's Plantation and 7 at Bayou Bourbeau. Later it moved to Huntsville, Texas, and disbanded before the surrender in June, 1865.
